Nov. 18 1986

    Warsaw senior Rick Fox signed the national letter form from the University of North Carolina before officially agreeing to attend the school next fall on a basketball scholarship. Watching the proceedings were Fox's guardians, Gene and Virginia Gossman, Warsaw assistant basketball coach Pete Smith, athletic director Dave Fulkerson, and head basketball coach Al Rhodes.

Nov. 18 1971

    Ranai Phillips, 3-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Phillips, Warsaw, waved to Santa Claus as he arrived at Lakes Village Shopping Center aboard a fire truck. Santa threw handfuls of candy to the crowd as he drove up and then went to his headquarters in Grants.

Nov. 18 1946

    Avery Hall, member of Leesburg Lions Club, goes to the head of the class. The Lions had a big shin-dig Wednesday night - and to prove his prowess as a salesman, Avery went out, stopped a freight train and talked the engineer into $2 worth of ducats.

Nov. 18 1921

    Two or three weeks ago a suit case containing women's apparel dropped from the running board of an automobile on the Leesburg road, between Leesburg and Warsaw. Somebody picked it up. Surely the finder does not wish to be dishonest. Liberal reward on its return to this office.
