Nov. 15 1987

    Winona Lake's newest police officer, Tom Adams, 28, of Claypool, was hired Oct. 29 and officially began solo patrolling this week in the town.

He is a 1977 Warsaw Community High School graduate and had previously been employed with the Houston city police in Texas for one year before moving back to Indiana.

Nov. 15 1972

    Jim Weirick, Warsaw, downed his first ever buck with a bow and arrow late Thursday night while hunting west of Warsaw. The 10-point buck weighed in at more than 200 pounds.

Nov. 15 1947

    Hall Hardware, 119 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw, has the Emerson Phonoradio Model 546 (combination radio and phonograph) with automatic record changer for continuous playing of 10-inch and 12- inch records for $89.95.

Nov. 15 1922

    Fred Gilliam, of Chapman Lake vicinity, recently shot a wild goose on the banks of the lake near his home. The wounded goose and its companion escaped. Across Chapman Lake nearly two miles away the wounded goose fell in the roadway in front of a woman driving a horse and buggy. The woman picked up the wild goose and had a fine Sunday dinner.
