    The national reference press of Owings Mills, Md., recently contacted Randy Polston, principal of Claypool Elementary School, to inform him that he's been nominated for inclusion in "Who's Who in American Education." The reference source is scheduled for publication next summer, and is committed to recognizing excellence in education.

Nov. 13 1972

    Former Warsaw sports great Dave Rankin was the special speaker at a pot-luck dinner Wednesday night honoring members of the '72 Tiger football team and cheerleaders.

Rankin was a three-sport letterman during his prep day (1935-37). He is considered by many to be one of the finest all-around athletes to ever graduate from Warsaw.

    Mrs. Ben Prather, Mrs. Gilbert Bertsch, Mrs. Russell Smith, Mrs. Sam Lowman and Mrs. Virgil McCleary, of this city, became members of the Ladies' Oriental Shrine in a ceremony which took place Friday evening at the Masonic Temple at Hammond.

    The playlet, "Mrs Briggs of the Potato Patch," produced last night by the Ladies' Aid of Leesburg, was well attended and highly pleasing. The play will be repeated again tonight.
