Some hunters will go to extremes to catch their prey and former Kosciusko Conservation Officer Dick Higgins is one of them. Higgins reportedly missed a ground hog with his shot and the animal escaped into the ground. But that didn't stop Higgins. Our sources say he got out his tractor and dozer, dug out the animal's home and let his dog attack and kill the burrowing critter. Now, as we understand, he's planning to build a basement or make the hole into a pond.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Meiner, of near Atwood, have evidence of the destructive force of the tornado which destroyed their mobile home on CR 750W, just southwest of Atwood, on April 3.
Captain Francis M. Shipley, son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Shipley, Warsaw, is slated to leave Fifth Air Force in Japan in the immediate future and return to the United States for reassignment. He will be accompanied by his wife, Elizabeth W. Shipley, and son David P., age 22 months.
Howard Hines, of this city, has received patent rights on a magnetic screw driver of his own invention. Hines, radio expert, has two other patents pending before the patent department.
