    Two area eighth-grade students will be on a nationally syndicated talk show to discuss drugs. Bethany McFarland, Akron, and Stewart Baney, Mentone, will talk with host Tom McKean. The show can be heard on WLUP-AM 1000.

    SYRACUSE - Mrs. Ralph (Marylee) Clingaman, a member of Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club, was presented the coveted Honeywell Trophy during the state garden clubs convention held in Evansville.

The award, named in honor of Purdue's longtime horticulture professor Earl M. Honeywell, is given for excellence in horticulture.

    The saxophone quartet from South Whitley High School made a guest appearance at a spring concert presented at Hamilton. The quartet, composed of Dotty Davis, Jo Anne Huffman, Maxine Stands and George M. Fleck, played two numbers.

    Mrs. Effa Hover, Pierceton, proved a strong candidate in the recorder Republican race. She polled some 2,364 votes while her seven opponents all together got slightly more than 3,000.

Warsaw's vote indicates Warsaw women vote for women candidates, said one politician here while interpreting the vote.
