    Autumn Knepper was one of the nation's 13 finalists in Nike's Michael Jordan Contest. The contest was through the Girls Club of America.

Knepper entered through the Warsaw Girls Club. For her events she received an Air Jordan T-shirt.

    WURZBURG, Germany - Army Specialist Four Maurice R. Olinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jean R. Olinger, Rt. 2, Warsaw, was awarded a safe driving certificate recently while serving with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany.

Spec. Olinger received the award for driving military vehicles 15,000 miles with no accidents or traffic violations.

    Two girls won the seventh grade spelling championship of Warsaw in the spelldown broadcast over radio station WRSW. They are Delores Stone, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Stone, of Route 2, and Donnis Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Johnson, of Winona Lake.

    LAFAYETTE - A. Howard, of 210 S. High St., Warsaw, a junior in the school of electrical engineering at Purdue University, was recently initiated into Tau Beta Pi, national honorary engineering fraternity. Membership in Tau Beta Pi is regarded as one of the highest honors that can be achieved by an engineering student at Purdue.
