    BOURBON - Triton eighth-grader Brian Lemler, son of Larry and Donna Lemler, Bourbon, will represent Indiana at the national geography bee at Washington, D.C.

Brian has won the local geography bee for the last four years and competed at the state level for three years, earning his first state title March 27.

    Marine Private Daniel G. Simmons, son of Sue A. Van Houten of Rt. 2, Box 46, Pierceton, is participating in Exercise "Solid Shield '77."

He is serving as a member of Logistic Support Group-Four, homebased at Camp Lejuene, N.C. His unit is the support element of the 4th Marine Amphibious Brigade (4th MAB).

    Jane Frisinger, North Webster, has been named to the Indiana University YWCA cabinet for the fall semester of the 1952-53 school year. Jane will act as head of the drama committee in the organization. A sophomore, she is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Frisinger.

    Wilda Mellencamp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mellencamp, 113 S. Wood St., Warsaw, was winner in the Warsaw-Winona District Bible contest held at the Methodist Church of Pierceton during the Sunday School convention being held there.

In spite of the fact that the lights went out in the midst of Mellencamp's recitation, she continued apparently undisturbed, very favorably impressing her hearers.
