    Steve Hollar was a triple award winner at the honors program held Sunday by the Indiana University School of Dentistry at IUPUI.

Hollar, son of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Hollar, Warsaw, won the Indiana Dental Association Award for service to organized dentistry; the Quintessence Publishing Co. Award for clinical achievement in restorative dentistry; and the Certificate of Merit Award from the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration/Organization of Teachers of Dental Practice Administration.

    American high school students are much better drivers than the public seems to think; that is, if they can drive half as well as Keith Schuman.

Sixteen-year-old Schuman, a junior at Whitko High School, finished second in the national finals of Operation Driver Excellence, a competition sponsored annually by AMVET' and Dodge dealers.

    Joe Fisher, who lives a mile east of the Packerton grocery store and is fond of mushrooms, had phenomenal luck the other day. He picked 167 under an old pear tree near his house. Joe says that his family doesn't like the fruit from the tree so much of it went ungathered last fall. He wonders if that had anything to do with this spring's mushroom crop?

    Agnes Haas, Pierceton, has been elected to Tau Kappa Epsilon, an honorary debating fraternity. She is a sophomore at Indiana University and the niece of Mr. and Mrs. J.L. Helwig, Warsaw.
