    Warsaw Community High School's golf team wrapped up the Northern Lakes Conference team championship with a nine-stroke victory over Wawasee to earn the championship at the Norwood Golf Course at Huntington.

The Tigers are ranked No. 1 and ended the regular season with a perfect 20-0 record.

    The Warsaw Community Education Association honored two teachers who are retiring from the teaching profession this year after a combined total of approximately 68 years. Miss Esther Pfleiderer, who has taught 39 years, and Mrs. Winona Barnett, who taught 29 years, were presented with a gift from the group.

    A new business machine has been placed in service at the First National Bank, which keeps a running tabulation of the entire day's business at the tellers' window and proves each transaction as it is run through by locking if totals are out of balance.

At the end of the day totals are immediately available on deposits, withdrawals and other operations and balances are easily struck.

    An apple tree at the home of County Superintendent Jesse Bruner is bearing beautiful freak blossoms as the result of the heavy winter snow storm of May 9. The tree was in bud when the storm interfered with the natural order of things and a second budding brought large double blooms, recognized as apple blossoms only by the fragrance.
