    Keven Oswalt, formerly of Warsaw and a student at Indiana-Purdue, Fort Wayne, recently had one of his photographs selected in the final competition of a national contest.

Oswalt, a 1983 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and the son of Gerald and Margaret Oswalt of Warsaw, is a student in the advanced photography class at IPFW. His black-and-white image was of a sorrowful woman with a tombstone statue.

    Mrs. Robert (Georgia) Tenney, of Pierceton, has been selected Girl of the Year for 1979-80 by the Xi Epsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.

Mrs. Tenney was named Pierceton's Citizen of the Year in 1978.

    Mary Anne Dunbar, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Dunbar, Winona Lake, a student of Manchester College, won first place in the Indiana State intercollegiate speech conference held last weekend in Indianapolis.

Speaking on the topic "Alternative to Co-existence" Dunbar defeated entrants from Notre Dame, Butler, I.U., Indiana State Teachers College, Hanover, Goshen, Earlham and other Indiana schools.

    Vernon Van Dyke, freshman at Manchester College, has received special recognition in several ways recently. He was elected editor-in-chief of the Oak Leaves, the college paper, by the student body; on April 29 he won third place in the state constitutional oratorical contest held at DePauw University; he received two collegiate letters for forensic activities; was one of the eight freshmen debaters to receive a debate letter with the numerals "33" on it; and was the only freshman to receive a letter for oratory.
