    CHAMPAIGN, Ill. - University of Illinois senior Glen Howard (South Whitley/Whitko High School) saved his best throw for his last meet, as he won the Big 10 Outdoors Track and field Championships at the University of Minnesota.

His throw was a career-best 178-10, and it gave him the Big 10 discus title.

May 28 1980

    Roy Bradbury, 44, of Warsaw, was congratulated by Warsaw Fire Chief Tom Burns for being named "Fireman of the Year" by members of American Legion Post 49 recently. He has been a volunteer Warsaw fireman for the past 15 years and now serves as first lieutenant of that force. He is employed as the shipping and receiving clerk at Word Music, Winona Lake.

May 28 1955

    Monday noon, 38 friends, neighbors and fellow Lions Club members, of Alton Kissinger, Silver Lake, came with 34 tractors and plowed 45 acres on the Kissinger farm. Kissinger, who is president of the Silver Lake Lions Club, recently underwent an operation of which he is recovering satisfactorily.

    Theodosia Arnold, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waid Arnold, of this city, is the newly elected president of Trianon at Butler University. Doris Arnold, also daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Waid Arnold, has been elected social chairman of the same organization.
