    Three sisters have quite the strange story to tell. Virginia Bennett of Pierceton and Irene Morphey of Illinois were visiting their other sister, Myrtle Felkner of Milford, when they said a bolt of lightning streaked through the interior of the house.

The women claim it came through the open front door, shot above the head of Virginia and exited through a closed window on the east side of the house.

    For the third year in a row, Stacy's of Leesburg has won the Tuesday night ladies league at Gilliam Lanes. Their combined average totaled 790. Team members are Eleanor Goble, Donna Mayer, Jane Grubbs, Donna Kinch and Joyce Neer.

    Ruth Crim and Tom Sittler are the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the Silver Lake graduating class this year.

Crim has a perfect attendance record since the seventh grade and is the daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Howard Crim. Sittler is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sittler.

    Marjorie Petro, 7, of North Lake Street, has received a hero medal from the Ralston Purina Hero Commission of St. Louis. Last July the little girl saved the life of her little brother when she stepped into a merry-go-round which had broken and took the brunt of a blow which would have killed the boy. She received fractures to both legs. Her brother was uninjured.
