    NAPPANEE - Richard Dodson was named head football coach at NorthWood High School by the Wa-Nee Community Schools Board of Trustees.

Dodson has been a faculty member of the school corporation since 1969 and has served as not only assistant football coach, but boys basketball coach and wrestling coach.

    Scouting's highest rank was awarded recently to Randy Steger, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Steger, Chapman Lake, Warsaw, at a dinner for the families of Scouts in Troop 717 at the Oswego Community Building.

Steger is the fifth member of Troop 717 to reach the Eagle plateau.

    Honor students of the 1952 graduating class of Pierceton High School are Edward Gregory, valedictorian, and Carol Lee Orr, salutatorian. The 27 Pierceton seniors leave this evening on a week's tour of Washington, D.C., and New York City.

    Lee Thorn, superintendent of the Baker Boys' Club of Warsaw, left by auto for Syracuse, N.Y., for the purpose of attending the annual international convention of Boys' Club superintendents. Thorn is accompanied by Mrs. Thorn.
