Warsaw Adult Tiger Booster Club honored seven Warsaw Community High School senior athletes at the annual sports award banquet. Brenda Kachlik, Dawn Ritchie, Kelly Dunwell, Ryan Weihler and Jim Lancaster were recipients of scholarships.
Glenn Lancaster, instructor of vocational machine shop at Warsaw Community High School, held the school trophy for second highest total score captured by Kenneth Metzger and Robert Morris, won at the statewide vocational students contest. Seventeen schools were entered in the competition from throughout the state.
Two buses going through town early the other morning carrying Gene Krupa, his band and their equipment. They were headed west on 25. Gene is one of the most famous drummers in the business.
City officials plan to have the Center Lake municipal bathing beach ready for bathers very soon. Already dozens of youths have taken their first dip of the year there despite the chill waters. Street commissioner Sid Akers and his crew have been instructed to rebuild the bath houses damaged by the high waters, and to prepare the beach.
