    The new pool for Warsaw Community Schools will soon be completed, and by next month will be in full usage with a variety of programs for the community that will cover all ages and all ability levels of swimming. Dedication is scheduled for May 30.

    Mrs. Helen Schade, who retires this year after teaching for 48 years, was put in the spotlight at the recent PTO meeting at Washington School. Mrs. Schade has set a record for having taught the fourth grade for 48 years, and 40 of those years were in the same classroom at Center Ward, now the junior high school.

    A bubble gum chewing contest conducted at the Burket store on May 20 saw Dick Goshert emerging with first money and Dickie Woods the second-place award. Larry Wise received the booby prize.

May 21 1922

    While surveyors were making measurements yesterday for the vacation of a certain alley in Warsaw, a woman whose property abuts the alley is said to have displayed a butcher knife and a saw as implements of war and to have struck one of the men with the saw with a smack that could be heard for 100 feet. The surveyors are said to have taken the situation good naturedly.
