    Three local students have been recognized for their work in recent poetry or journalism contests.

Mike Beezley, a student at Wawasee High School, took first in illustrations in the 1992 High School Journalism Contest, sponsored by the Michiana Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists. Christy Clemons and Cara Nichols, both students at Manchester High School, were among the 20 state winners in the 1992 Indiana Manningham Students Poetry Contest.

    BLOOMINGTON - Three area wrestlers reign as state champions after winning their respective weight classes at the State AAU Junior Age Group wrestling championships here over the weekend.

Warsaw's Dan Fenix and Wawasee's Kelly Frank and Nell Wilkey were all atop the rest of the state's competitors in their divisions.

    Byron Lester, Winona Lake, a state director of the Travellers Protective Association, and Gilbert Bertsch, Carl Zimmer and Edward Lambert, delegates from the Warsaw post, are attending a two-day state TPA convention at French Lick.

    Members of the Hi-Y Club of the Warsaw High School met Monday evening in regular session at the school building. Following the order of business five were initiated into the club with the president, Robert Wilt, in charge of the ceremonies. The new members are Joe Paxton, Irvin VanDyke, William Collisson, Charles Davis and Francis Bodkin.
