Tippecanoe Valley basketball player Renee Metzger recently signed a letter of intent with St. Francis College in Fort Wayne. Metzger led the 11-7 Lady Viking squad in steals and assists and was a first-team selection to the Times-Union All-Area Team.
The Purdue University Department of Bands has announced that Timothy Scott Stokes, of Warsaw, has been accepted for membership in the Purdue University Bands. Stokes plays tenor sax in the Tippecanoe Valley High School band and is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Stokes.
Ronald Severns, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Severns, of near Mentone, won second place with his demonstration on hog house construction in the district demonstration and judging contest held at Orland recently. Ronald's six-minute demonstration will be given at the state contest to be held in June at Purdue University during the 4-H Round-up. He is a member of Mentone Boys 4-H Club.
Mrs. George Franklin and Mrs. E.S. Johnson were hostesses to the Clio Literary Club at the home of the former. The following officers were elected for the coming year: President, Mrs. Everett Rasor; vice president, Leah Power; second vice president, Bertha Bartol; secretary, Miriam Netter; treasurer, Mrs. E.E.
