Warsaw Community High School's golf team set a school record for most wins in a row as the squad won its 14th match of the season by beating Goshen and Elkhart Central at Rozella Ford Golf Course Thursday afternoon.
Following nearly 20 years of serving the community, William Joseph Pipp, 60, of 806 S. Front St., Syracuse, has retired from the volunteer fire department and first aid unit. Pipp admits to not really being ready to leave the department. But the bylaws require retirement once a man reaches 60, he said.
Warsaw's prolific inventor, Walter "Doc" Evans, has come up again with another invention - this time to the decided benefit of electricians. "Doc's" fertile brain has devised a pair of cutters with a stripping knife attached.
Dr. M.H. Lyon, Winona Lake, has presented to the East Wayne consolidated public school 200 books on educational, religious and historical subjects, which will make a handsome addition to the school library.
