    NEW PARIS - Bob Johnson and Chris Helfrich, both of Warsaw, each won a street stock race to lead a contingent of local racers in action at the New Paris Speedway.

Johnson won a street stock "D" feature while also placing second in another event. Helfrich was the top finisher in the street stock "B" feature race.

    MENTONE - Dr. Donald J. VanGilder, a Mentone dentist, has been made a life member of the Indiana Dental Association. Announcement of the honor was made last weekend at the 119th annual session of the dental association in Indianapolis.

    Mrs. Bertha Moriarty, Mrs. Lee Mullins and Mrs. Howard Phebus spent Wednesday and Thursday in Indianapolis, where they attended the state home economics club convention. They went as delegates of the Tippecanoe Home Economics Club.

    C.M. Pinkerton, a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity at Wabash College, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pinkerton, of near Warsaw, was recently chosen to act as circulation manager for "The Bachelor," the official student publication. Pinkerton was also on the basketball squad and is expected to run on the relay team of the college.
