In 1958, a temporary structure, expected to be used for just five or six years, was built to serve the parishioners of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Finally, 29 years after its construction, the temporary church has been converted into the gymnasium it was intended to be and the permanent church facility held mass for the first time on Oct. 4.
A nature trail has been developed for use by teachers or leaders of interested groups of any age by the administration of the Lakeland Community School Corporation and students at Wawasee High School. The trail is called an environmental laboratory.
A copy of The Warsaw Enterprise, dated Aug. 31, 1878, and published by Chase Millice, was brought to our office by Harold Pound, Oswego resident, who found it in the keepsake-effects of his mother, the late Mrs. John Pound. The paper, Vol. 1, No. 2, subscription rates were advertised at 50 cents a year, 25 cents per month.
The official thermometer record of the Winona interurban railway company yesterday afternoon registered 86 degrees, the hottest of the year to date. At noon today the temperature was 88 degrees.
