Members of the Warsaw Future Business Leaders of America competed at the State Leadership Conference in Indianapolis.
Honored at the WCHS senior awards banquet were Rhonda Waggoner, career manager; Kim Kleeman, Boice Award for girls tennis; Kathy Garrard, female career athlete; Marsha Montel, Tucker Award and Adult Tiger Club scholarship winner; Dave Berg, Fisher Award; Todd Frauhiger, scholarship winner; Tony Deeter, co-Minear Award winner; Ron Brandenburg, an Indiana All-Star whose WCHS uniform No 23 was retired; Eric Sebo, co-Minear and senior career athlete; John Hayves, career manager; and Drew Dickerson, Boice Award for boys tennis.
Three area young women have received caps in ceremonies conducted at St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing, Fort Wayne, for completion of a 36-week pre-clinical period of study.
The Jolly Eight Bridge Club was entertained at the home of Blanche Bates, 410 S. Indiana St. Two tables of bridge were enjoyed with prizes being awarded to Carolyn Kozak for high score, and Agnes Cook, for second high score. Other members present were Bessie Smith, Lucy Upson, Bertha Bartol, Florence Gerlach and Mrs. Paul Chapman.
