    Claypool Elementary School students competed recently in a poster contest for National Hospital Week. Winners were, Jana Knisely, first place, kindergarten; Jenell Hawley, first place, first grade; Joel Brubaker, first place, second grade; Holly Miller, first place, second grade (B); Adam Warner, first place, third grade; Shanna Rickey, first place, fourth grade; Jon Konkle, first place, fifth grade; and Dorthy Arnett, first place, sixth grade.

    Five students from the Warsaw area have been named to the Honor Roll at Butler University, based on outstanding achievement throughout the student's college career.

They are James T. Brennan, 9 Fairlane Dr., and Dennis L. Jennings, 1322 E. Fort Wayne St., both of Warsaw; Merri V. Strong, Leesburg; and Karen S. Allen and Connie M. Christner, both of Syracuse.

    Top grades among the 110 Warsaw High School seniors have been achieved by Wilma Howard and Sara Ramsey. Howard, 17, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Howard, 1622 E. Center St., is valedictorian of the class of 1950. Ramsey, 17, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William P. Ramsey, 112 Argonne Road, is salutatorian.

    Rev. D.B. Kessinger, Winona Lake, left for Buffalo, N.Y., to attend the general conference of the United Brethren Church, which meets quadrennially, and is the highest legislative body in the church. Rev. Kessinger was chosen as one of the five ministers from the St. Joseph conference.
