LEESBURG - Tippecanoe Lake Country Club held its "Opening Get Acquainted Golf Scramble" on Sunday. The team of Brian Gerard, Larry Renbarger, Paul House and Harry Alfrey shot 63 to win first place.
Kathy Sells was named recipient of the Phillips Cecilian Award at the final choral concert of the season at Warsaw Community High School. Kathy, a senior at WCHS, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Sells, Silver Lake. Ironically, Kathy's sister, Karen, won the Phillips Award in 1972.
Naomi Smith, East Clark Street, is the lucky winner of a diamond ring. Smith was awarded the ring as a prize in a recent radio contest.
Margaret Huffman of the Pierceton M.E. Church was the winner of the Washington Township scripture memory contest held at Pierceton in the Presbyterian Church. Dr. Gordon and Louise Bebb, both of Winona Lake gave short talks during the evening. The other contestants in the contest were May Harmon of Washington Union School, Annabelle Vernette, of the Presbyterian Church, Pierceton, and Helen Lightfoot of Morris Chapel.
