    Warsaw' Dennis England won his second-straight "Capitol Promotions Winged Spring Series" feature Sunday night at Baer Field Speedway. England won a similar event at Avilla Motor Speedway the previous weekend.

Warsaw's Charles Cotton III was the dash winner in the Stock Car Bonanza No. 2.

    The Warsaw Community High School athletes who walked off with the hardware at the Adult Tiger Club's Senior Sports Banquet are: Diane Williams, Tucker Award; Brooke Zykan, Boice Award for girls tennis; Sue Loher, girls scholarship; Claudie Kreicker, female senior athlete of the year; Tony Lozier, Fisher Award; Randy Heisler, male senior athlete of the year; Mike Petro, Boice Award for boys tennis; and Mike Clark, boys scholarship.

    Pfc. Doyle A. Hatfield, 19, son of Mrs. Albert Hatfield, 710 N. Cook St., recently graduated from the 36th engineer group's ordinance mechanics school in Korea.

He is a member of headquarters and service company of the group's 74th engineer battalion.

May 14 1930

    Esther Naomi Pfleiderer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James B. Pfleiderer, of North Washington Street, this city, will graduate this year from the North Manchester College with high distinction. Pfleiderer is the only member of her class to receive this honor.

Martha Slater and Mary L. Boggs, of Warsaw, will receive two-year normal diplomas on that date.
