    Aimee Goslee of Warsaw attended the recent Franklin College Emerging Leaders Workshop at Bradford Woods.

Goslee is the daughter of Bruce and Barb Goslee, Warsaw.

    Wendell Walls, Warsaw, found a balloon on May 4 in his field which, according to the attached card, had been launched earlier in the day from the Niles East High School in Skokie, Ill., in celebration of the Niles East Homecoming 1979. The card stated that by returning the card to the school would qualify for a special gift. It also said, "If you are ever in Skokie, drop in and see us."

    Paul C. Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Hudson, Warsaw, received his promotion to captain a few days ago at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

A veteran of 10 years' Army service, Paul expects to go to Alaska in August.

    NORTH MANCHESTER - The annual May-day festivities at Manchester College surpassed all previous college activities of a similar nature and brought the social function of the school year to a close.

The big event of the day came with the crowning of Ruby Deardorff, of North Manchester, as May Queen for the following year. She was attended by Edith Popham, of Claypool, as maid of honor. Class attendants were Virginia Speicher, Geraldine Garber, Geneva Hawker, Lillian Rasor, Grace Stoner, Marjorie Wasmuth and Helen Bowman.
