    Shirley Bell, of Shirley Bell's School of Dance, and her daughter, Julie, a student at Leesburg Elementary School, have been chosen to participate in the Mother and Child Fashion Show Saturday in Concord Mall, Elkhart.

Of the more than 200 people who applied to take part in the show, the Bells were two of the 70 chosen.

    The Garden Club of Indiana Inc., held its 43rd annual convention at Richmond, recently. Theme of the convention was "Beautification: Indiana IS Beautiful."

The Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club at this convention was given a first place award for flower show "Bloomin' Holidays," which was held last August. Flower show chairman was Mrs. R.C. Tytler. The club also received a first place award for the historian's scrapbook. Mrs. W.H. Brake is historian of the club.

    Milt Wysong, Syracuse, has been named again to the educational division of the Indiana department of conservation, and has assumed his duties.

Wysong, under his new assignment will be in charge of the youth program to acquaint boys and girls with the need for conservation of natural resources and wildlife.

    Ernest Byrer and Myrtle Cretcher, Warsaw, participated as official delegates to the spirited, clamorous mock national Republican convention held by Indiana University students on the Bloomington campus recently. Byrer, as a "delegate" from Kansas, and Cretcher, as a "delegate" from Virginia, took active parts in the convention.
