May 13 1995

    A Warsaw man found out that warming up golf balls wasn't so hot of an idea. Max Mollenhour went golfing with his friend, Ed Huffer, and stated that he heated up his golf balls in the microwave. Max believed they increased his drives about five yards. Ed warned Max about the dangers of putting the balls in the microwave, but Max (alias "Duke Nukem") gave them another try - with disastrous results. The balls and the microwave both exploded.

May 13 1980

    Bobby Rockhill, 26-year-old grandson of the late Morrison and Isabelle Rockhill, of Warsaw, recently was admitted to the Illinois Bar and is now eligible to practice law in the state. However, the son of the Alvin Rockhills is currently employed on an "assistantship" with the University of Illinois while pursuing his doctorate in chemistry.

May 13 1955

    Mary Helen Longnecker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Longnecker, Atwood, and Pat Smith, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Smith, Warsaw, have been named valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, of the 1955 graduating class at Atwood High School.

    Lucy Upson, Lucile Scott, Carolyn Kozak and Mrs. O.W. Werntz, of Warsaw, and Mrs. Ruth George, of Nappanee, returned home from Indianapolis where they attended the state convention of the Business and Professional Women's Club, which was held at the Claypool Hotel.
