    Todd Watkins has been named valedictorian and Kim Thomas was named salutatorian for Triton High School's 1988 graduating class. Watkins is the son of Tom and Jane Watkins, Route 1, Bourbon, and Thomas is the daughter of Pat and Joyce Thomas, Etna Green.

    Captain Patrick M. Bresnanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Bresnanan, 305 E. Market St., South Whitley, has received his second award of the U.S. Air Force Commendation Medal at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Captain Bresnanan was cited for meritorious service as a supply officer at Hickam AFB, Hawaii.

    Your Warsaw Daily Times has been adjudged first-place winner in a nationwide contest of newspapers for general excellency in typography, it was announced today by judges of the National Editorial Association, Chicago, Ill. Today's award is the second to be won by the Daily Times this year.

May 12 1923

    A bull owned by William Myers, of west of Argos, and which was sold to Smiley & Robbins of this city, was so heavy that its legs caved under it while the animal was being driven along a country highway to be delivered to the buyers. The animal, which tops the scales at 2,300 pounds, finally was conveyed to Rochester in a large motor truck.
