    HEIDELBERG, Germany - Army Spec. Jason Cox has been named the U.S. Army Element Central Army Group soldier of the year.

Cox, a protocol driver, is the son of Keith and Patricia Cox, Claypool. The soldier is a 1989 graduate of South Whitley High School.

    SYRACUSE - Mark Koble, a Purdue University sophomore majoring in environmental health, is among five Purdue Glee Club members who have been tapped for membership in the Purdusirs during the glee club's award ceremonies. Koble is from Syracuse.

    Placing seconds in the county judging and demonstration contest were the members of the Beaver Dam dairy judging team. They are Ernest Heighway, Charles Bucher, Larry Tucker and Leland Andrews.

    The pictures of two former Warsaw boys, Howard Walters, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Walter, and Donald Marvel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Marvel, will appear in the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel. They are winners in a recent contest when a prize was awarded the boy making the best model of the Spirit of St. Louis, Lindbergh's plane. Walters won first prize and Marvel won second. Both boys now reside with their parents in Fort Wayne. The first prize was an airplane trip over Fort Wayne.
