Warsaw freshman Angie Johnson became the first area girls track performer to break 60 seconds in a race this year, turning in a school record time of 59.2 seconds.
A program featuring Tony Huffer, a sophomore at Warsaw Community High School, on the guitar will be given at the Phenix Coffeehouse as Phenix opens its doors to junior high youth.
New wings for Miss Patrick T. Haynes, of Warsaw, Munson Motor bookkeeper, who soloed Monday night. Pat, ex-WAC, 19 months overseas service as motor-pool driver, is the first county woman to solo under the GI Bill of Rights Training Program. She soloed from the airport north of Warsaw and has been a student of the Lowman Flying School. She plans to get her private license, then commercial.
The fire department was called to The Warsaw Union office at 8:30 Saturday morning, paper near the furnace having ignited. The alarm was sounded while batteries were being changed in the fire truck. On the way to the Union Office, other mechanical trouble resulted. A hand chemical was sent to the Union Office in a taxicab and the blaze was extinguished before any damage had been done.
