Wrestling success just continues for WCHS freshman Darrell Carr.
On May 1, Carr claimed another state title in Greco-Roman wrestling in the cadet division at 103.5 in Indianapolis to go with his other national and state titles. Carr is currently ranked in the top five in the nation to Greco-Roman wrestling and in the top ten in freestyle after his performance in Evanston, Ill., at the Cadet World Trials, a USA wrestling sponsored event.

The Optimist International annual "Respect for Law Week" was observed at this week's meeting of the Warsaw Optimist Club.
One aspect of the observance was a writing contest for sixth graders who responded in 100 words or less to the topic "What Respect for Law Week Means to Me." The winner for the girls was Sheri Piecuch and in the boy's category was Jeff Tucker.

Almost 1,000 packages of zinnia seeds have already been distributed free of charge to Warsaw and Winona Lake residents who plan to grow flowers for the Centennial observance July 4-10 in this city.
The zinnia has been designated as the official Centennial flower, and persons growing them are eligible to compete in the outdoor residential decoration contest, which is being sponsored by the Business and Professional Women's Club.

The Unique Bakery, an entirely new, modern and spotlessly clean bakery, owned by Anthony Mathia, formerly of Plymouth, and installed in the Buffalo Street room once occupied by the Dickey & Sons ready-to-wear department, will open Saturday for business.
