    Two Warsaw residents recently received honors in the Miss Teen All-American Pageant in Indianapolis. Sherry Shaffner, 14, daughter of Steve and Carolyn Shaffner, won the Amity Award, which was given to her by her peers. Shaffner is a student. Balinda Ross, 19, daughter of Gerald and Sharlene Ross, Mentone, won the photogenic award. Ross is a file clerk at DePuy.

    Rob Staley and Therese Peters were crowned Warsaw Community High School's Prom King and Queen for 1975 in the auditorium. Rob is the son of Mrs. Mae Sprong, Shady Lane, Warsaw, and Therese is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Peters, 722 N. Harrison St., Warsaw.

    The Mermaid Festival queen committee announced today the selection of a "Miss Leesburg" to compete for the title of "Queen of the Lakes" at the Mermaid Festival bathing beauty contest at North Webster. She is Barbara Wallace, petite, auburn-haired, blue-eyed, popular Leesburg High School junior.

Wallace is 18 years old and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Millard Wallace, Leesburg.

May 10 1925

    The garment judging team from the local high school, composed of Thelma Walton, Frances Benton, Dorothy Clase and Juanita Yeakel, took second place in the contest at the Purdue round-up. Twenty-two teams from all over the state competed in the contests.
