    Helen Schnedler, Syracuse, used to get teased that all her family would eat is cheese sandwiches, but no one jokes about her cooking any more. Schnedler recently competed at the Indiana beef cook-off in Indianapolis and was among the final 15 recipes with "Beef In Toast Cups."

May 10 1972

    On May 14, 1872, three men with $60,000 established the Lake City Bank of Warsaw. It began as a private bank and is the only bank in Warsaw to survive the Depression years. They are celebrating their 100th anniversary this year.

May 10 1947

    Foliage on the trees of Warsaw and Kosciusko County getting a pretty good start despite the reluctance of spring to arrive. The recent chill didn't halt the growth of grass either. That would keep right on growing.


75 Years Ago
May 10 1922

    Honor pupils, receiving the highest award for scholastic honor given at the Warsaw High School, were recently voted by the faculty members to Mamie Stevens and Gladys Bowen. Miss Stevens received the highest honor, that of valedictorian, while Miss Bowen was chosen salutatorian. Selection was based upon their excellent high grades maintained throughout their four years in the local school.
