    Warsaw optometrist Dr. Richard Carmen transported his office staff to lunch in style last week on Secretaries Day. A white stretch limo took the doctor and four of his office workers to lunch at the Holiday Inn.

    Harry Lacy, 71, of Long Beach, Calif., stopped at 11 different restaurants last weekend to work for a meal before Jill Smith, front desk clerk at the Warsaw Holiday Inn offered him a free Sunday supper. Lacy, who started pedaling his bicycle from Long Beach to Pennsylvania on March 1, had logged 2,400 miles by the time he reached Warsaw. He is making the trip to visit his daughter and grandchild in Pennsylvania. Although travel time is slower on a bicycle, Lacy is beating motorists in the gas mileage game.

    The Claypool Lions Club has figured out a really fiendish scheme to improve attendance. It will acquire a pig. Each time a member is absent he will be required to keep the pig for four days.

    Frank Cash, coach and in charge of athletics for the Warsaw High School for the past three years, on yesterday was presented with a handsome gold watch, the gift coming from Warsaw businessmen who appreciated the service of Mr. Cash in his successful efforts with Warsaw High School athletics. The presentation was made by Earl Hill, prominent in football and basketball activities. It was a memento well bestowed and greatly appreciated.
