    The winners of the fourth annual Warsaw Middle School Science Fair were Rob Paton, overall winner; Laurie Bailey, for the biological science division; and Jason Sandy, for the physical science division.

    Senior student Debra Sue Hummel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hummel, Route 1, Leesburg, has been chosen 1973 Wawasee High School Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow. Selected on the basis of her performance on a written examination, Debra Sue will receive a specially-designed award.

    It seems that from the time a certain Milford yell leader was very young her chief ambition was to become a yell leader. It was in her thoughts day and night. One day at the family dinner table she was asked to return thanks. She bowed her head and began in a soft voice: "Blue and gray, rah rah! Oh, I forgot!" then went on with her little prayer.

March9 1923

    A 3-inch-long darning needle, lodged in a man's body for perhaps years and turned black, was extracted from the hip of Ed Harris, well-known Warsaw painter, when he applied to a local doctor's office and complained of pain in his hip.

Dr. Orville H. Richer examined the hip, located the needle, pushed one end of it through the surface and Harris pulled it out with his fingers.
