    Warsaw's receiver Billy West and Tippecanoe Valley lineman Jason Bowman were selected as part of the North All-Star high school football squad in the annual North-South series.

Bremen's Martin Huber, winner of the Class 2A state title this past year and brother of Warsaw head coach Ted Huber, will coach the North squad.

March 9 1980

    First Lady Rosalynn Carter personally greeted two Warsaw-Winona Lake women in the State Dining Room of The White House in January along with approximately 100 other women from the National Religious Broadcaster Convention held in Washington, D.C.

Genevieve Andrews, wife of Bishop Robert F. Andrews, Winona Lake, and Iris Riggs, wife of Dr. Donald E. Riggs, Warsaw, were greeted by Mrs. Carter following a tour of The White House.

March 9 1955

    Dr. B.J. Bauman, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Bauman, South Whitley, is a reserve medical officer at the air force base at Loredo, Texas, where he was recently promoted to captain.

March 9 1930

    Fourteen members of the Pollyanna Club were entertained at the home of Mrs. Frances Kelly on North Detroit Street with a St. Patrick's party. Hazel Lucas acted as assisting hostess. Each member present told an Irish story and each was given an Irish name and were made to forfeit a shamrock if called by her right name. Contests were won by Ethel Dufur, Alma Myers and Princess Hugo.
