    BOURBON - A family business started more than 25 years ago will continue into the second generation as a result of the purchase of the Deaton Funeral Home by Terry and Julie Deaton Clemens.

Terry Clemens officially assumed ownership on Jan. 1 but has worked in the funeral service with former owner George Deaton for several years.

    Garold R. Horrick, of 515 N. Columbia St., Warsaw, can boast of being the great-great-great-grandson of Betsy Ross, who designed and made the first American flag which represented the original 13 states of the Union. Horrick, in commemorating the Bicentennial year, presented a Betsy Ross flag to officers of the Warsaw Masonic Lodge.

    Mr. and Mrs. Hobart Creighton and daughter, Martha, have moved into their new home on the Crystal Lake Road. With them is the newest addition to the Creighton roster of pets, a very young Norwegian Elk hound, named Olso, a gift of Mr. Creighton to his wife.

    George Elder sold a span of mules Tuesday at his sale for $540. Col. John D. Gill says it is the highest price he has got for a mule team for many a day.
