PLYMOUTH - Asia Louise Popenfoose, daughter of Joby and Carla Popenfoose of Warsaw, earned two honors in a baby beauty pageant called "New Star Discovery."

Asia won first place in most beautiful baby and first place for most beautiful smile.

The winners of the second category of the Times-Union Recipe Contest, Salads, have been announced.

First place has been awarded to Cherryl A. Clause, Warsaw, for Cola Congealed Salad. Second place has been awarded to Mary Smoker, Warsaw, for Spinach Salad. Joyce Haupert, Leesburg, placed third with Bean 'N' Bacon Salad.

Morrison A. Rockhill, senior partner of the law firm of Rockhill, Vanderveer and Lee, announced Brooks C. Pinnick has become a full partner of the law firm.

Pinnick, 32, has been associated with the firm since 1953.

The 1931 sectional tourney is now a matter of history. The unexpected did happen, and for the first time the winner hails from a habitat south of the Pennsylvania tracks. For almost a decade Mentone has been striving for a sectional championship, but not until her victory over Milford on Saturday night were her fond hopes realized.
