    COLUMBIA CITY - Manchester Squires Dusty Bellows and Mike Bazzoni are the wrong amigos to send to the free throw line if you are a team trying to win against the cagers from North Manchester.

The free throw line made the difference Saturday night when the Squires, now 13-0, downed Tippecanoe Valley 64-59 to grab the Columbia City Sectional Title.

    SYRACUSE - Three Wawasee High School students have advanced to finalist standing in the 1977 National Merit Scholarship competition. Last year, Wawasee had no students in the final round of competition.

The three finalists are Susan Shank, Caryl Coy and Todd Haines.

    Carol Kay Parks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Parks, Route 4, Warsaw, was among 102 freshmen students at the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing who received their caps at the annual exercises recently. Carol's nursing class will be graduated in 1954.

    Pupils of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar M. Baker of the local branch of the Sherwood Music School gave a recital Wednesday evening at the United Brethren Church. The pupils taking part were: Ruth Dobbins, Eileen Cremean, Clarence Hartman, Hal Hammel, Wilma Kreamer, Dale Gerster, Marjorie Baker and Clara Eve King.
