    During Mentone Elementary School's career week, students were asked to dress appropriately for the career they would like to pursue. Chris Starky, who plans to become principal at Mentone Elementary, wore his suit and tie and tried sitting in principal Jon Parker's chair. As Chris is only 6 years old, however, Parker need not worry about his job just yet.

    Dr. Vance A. Yoder, Grace College academic dean, announced there were three dean's list students from the immediate Warsaw area for the fall semester of 1980.

The dean's list is composed of full-time students in the highest 2 percent of the student body. The students include Beth A. Buhler, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Al Buhler, of Warsaw; Jeanne S. Keener, of Syracuse; and Faith Mullen, of Warsaw.

March 6 1956

    Mary Beth Hartman and Norma Jean Wolfe, of Warsaw, received the cap of the Indianapolis Methodist Hospital School of Nursing at exercises in the hospital auditorium.

Both graduates of Warsaw High School, Mary Beth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Hartman, of Herscher Addition, and Norman Jean's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Norman A. Wolfe, Route 2.

March 6 1931

    The blizzard of Saturday worked havoc with the rural mail carriers, but the men all stuck to their jobs at a great discomfort to themselves.

Basil L. Durbin, who carried mail southeast of Warsaw, after he had completed his route at dark stalled. A car was sent out from the Warsaw post office to relieve him and it also stalled. Durbin was forced to walk the entire 10 miles back into Warsaw and arrived late Saturday evening.
