    Local automobile dealer Bruce Petro is taking quite a ribbing over his skinned nose and black eye as the result of a mishap on a bicycle while in Florida recently. His friends at Breadings have offered to take up a collection to get Bruce training wheels.

    Donald and James Hasse, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hasse, Syracuse, have been named to the dean's list at the University of Notre Dame. Both Notre Dame students graduated from Wawasee High School. Donald is a freshman and James is a sophomore at the university.

    Kroger Grocery Store in Warsaw advertised the following specials: 10-pound bag of potatoes for 49 cents; two loaves of bread for 25 cents; frying chickens for 55 cents per pound; top quality hamburger at 39 cents per pound.

    William Streiby, son of the Syracuse grocer, is the owner and maker of a power ice boat, propelled by an air propeller like an airplane, which attains great speed across the nine-mile stretch of foot-thick ice on Wawasee Lake.
