Kathy Shipley of Warsaw was the winner of a $50 contest to guess the weight of "The Rock" at the recent bridal expo.
The Cardinal Center Girls basketball team won the district championship tourney at South Bend. Team members are Kathy Peele, Debbie Anglin, Marsha Burk, Joanna Gilmore, April Criss, Ruby Sweet, Jody Moser and Judy Tustison. Their coach is Dan Conley and assistant coaches are Thelma Newell and Jean Benedict.
Charles Morehead, senior forward on the Warsaw High School basketball squad and a member of the Times-Union all-sectional tournament first team, was elected honorary captain for the season by his teammates.
Piano pupils of Nellie Killian gave a recital at the home of Mrs. Merl Funk. Those playing were Ruth Jane Arnold, John Vanator, Jack Riddle, Milton Burden, Sally Eschbach, Martha Bartol, Barbara Dickey, Helen Jean Richer, Ruth Newlin and Donella Cochran. Prizes were won by Donella Cochran and Milton Burden.
