    The Warsaw Tigerette Winter Guard won first place in the Class A competition at the NorthWood Invitational Feb. 29. The Tigerettes missed first place out of all 30 competitors by only one-tenth of a point, earning their highest score for a regular season performance.

March 5 1977

    James E. Wright, Rt. 3, Syracuse, and Howard Cassell, 943-1/2 Garfield St., Warsaw, were honored by United Telephone for 25 years' service last month.

Both men began working for United in 1952 as lineworkers in Plymouth. Wright is now a transmission technician and Cassell a testboard and frameworker at the firm's Warsaw switching center.

    Wilma Hire, Syracuse, has resigned from the Syracuse cemetery board after more than 20 years as a member. She has served as secretary since 1938.

M.M. Smith will replace Mrs. Hire as secretary-treasurer when her resignation becomes effective about April 1. Other members of the board are Leon Connolly, president, Dorothy Harris, Mrs. H.L. Spencer, Rev. J.C. Bailey and Wade Zerbe.

    The new members of the board of review who sit with the county auditor, county assessor and county treasurer in June have just been named by Judge L.W. Royse of the circuit court.

The new members for 1927 are Thad McClure, Silver Lake, and Edson Sarber, Mentone.
