March 4 1995

    Whitko basketball coach Bill Patrick reached 400 career wins at the varsity level during the '94-'95 season. Patrick gained No. 400 on Feb. 28 when the Wildcats beat Churubusco 83-46 in their sectional opener. His 400 wins put him at No. 4 in the state in number of wins by active coaches.

March 4 1980

    WEST LAFAYETTE - A 33-year-old Fulton County farmer was recently named the most outstanding student and joined young men from Wells and Lake counties and Chillicothe, Ohio, as top scholars of Purdue University's 94th annual Eight Week Winter Course in agriculture.

Russell H. Taylor, of Rochester, won the $500 Federal Lake Bank-Agricultural Alumni Award and was also named the outstanding scholar in the animal agriculture curriculum.

    Anna Bowser, of 113-1/2 N. Indiana St., reports of gathering dandelion greens Wednesday afternoon. She said she planned to cook them for the evening meal.

March 4 1930

    Mrs. Frank Bright assisted by Mrs. Everet Anglin, entertained members of her bridge club Thursday evening at her home on South Indiana Street. There were two tables of bridge with Mrs. Metta Maish and Mrs. James Cook winning the prizes. Mrs. Cook was a guest of the club.
