Six months after the rest of the high school basketball world started its season, Warsaw Community High School all-American Rick Fox got his first taste of prep competition in Landover, Md.
Paul Eckert, son of Rev. and Mrs. Peter Eckert, Warsaw, recently captured first place speech honors at Indianapolis in statewide competition. Eckert, a student at Warsaw Community High School, received a $350 scholarship plus a winner's trophy.

Twenty-one persons who attended a play at the Seward township school last night were mud-bound and forced to spend the night at the Theodore Parker country home near Yellow Creek Lake because last night's rain had made the roads almost impassable.
