    Park Department Supt. Jon Garber is looking into changing the type of toilet paper used in park facility restrooms. Instead of the traditional type, Garber is seeking prices on recycled paper - professionally referred to as "post-consumer recovered materials." The product is derived from waste paper such as old office paper and newspaper.

Garber doesn't think it will 'rub the public wrong.' An unscientific test indicates the proposed paper is just as soft as the stuff used by other city departments.

    Navy Gunner's Mate Seaman Apprentice Douglas M. Vanness, son of James Hown, Pierceton, had visited Mombasa, Kenya, on the east coast of Africa as a crewmember of the nuclear-powered attack aircraft carrier USS Enterprise.

He also recently crossed the equator while on a cruise in the Indian Ocean. The Enterprise, homeported in Alameda, Calif., is deployed as part of the U.S. Seventh Fleet.

    Mildred Janice Bushong, Syracuse, has been appointed to the Association of Women Students Board of Standards, governing body for women students at Indiana University.

    Rev. and Mrs. O.W. French and daughter Marie, of Valentine, will sail from San Francisco for Korea, where they will enter the mission field. Both are especially gifted for the work, Mrs. French being a talented speaker, pianist and soloist.

Rev. French was former pastor of the Warsaw M.E. circuit and resided on West Center Street. They have many friends in Warsaw and vicinity who will be glad to know that at least they are able to enter their chosen work.
