    MUNCIE - Former Wawasee High School standout and current Ball State swimmer Andy Kryder, son of Roger and Marge Kryder, earned Academic All-Mid-American Conference honors recently.

This season, Kryder totaled 19 individual top-three finishes, which was the highest on the team. Eight of those finishes were wins.

March 30 1981

    Mary Ann and Carlton "Cap" Beer, Milford, recently received the "Dairy Family of the Year Award" from Arnold Wehr, vice president of the Indiana State Dairy Association, at the organization's annual meeting in Marion. The Beers have five children, who have all "grown up" with the family dairy operation. Four sons now have their own herds.


50 Years Ago

March 30 1956

    Bourbon grain-judging team won a first place tie with Lapaz in the Marshall County judging contest. The team consisted of Larry Hall, Richard Lemler, Dave Martin and Jay Trowbridge. Martin was high scoring individual in the contest, with 650 points.


75 Years Ago

March 30 1931

    Lewis H. Breading, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Breading, of this city, a student at Wabash College and member of the Lambda Chi fraternity, was recently pledged to the Sphinx Club, an honorary society of men prominent on the Wabash Campus. Breading has been the varsity yell leader during the year and is also a member of the 1931 baseball squad. "Peanuts" was former Warsaw High School yell leader.
