    Navy Seaman Chad Collier, son of Chuck and Lise Collier of Pierceton, recently received a letter of commendation.

Collier was cited for superior performance of duty while assigned aboard the destroyer USS Conolly, homeported in Norfolk, Va.

March 29 1980

    Three Warsaw women, involved with Kosciusko County Right to Life, recently attended one of the six Indiana Right to Life conventions being held around the state.

Lesa Harman, Rita Kachlik and Roberta Stroh joined pro-lifers from this area at Harley's of Fort Wayne.

50 Years Ago

March 29 1955

    Several high school musicians from this area will appear with the Manchester College string symphony in the fourth annual Mother's Day String Festival on the Manchester College campus today.

Among the 130 Indiana high school string musicians who will assist the college symphony group are Geraldine Harris and Margaret Gable, North Manchester, and Gail Dunbar, Warsaw, who will play second violins; Anita Bollinger, North Manchester, first violin; and Linda Warner, North Manchester, cello.

March 29 1930

    Noble Hoderread, Milford, High School pupil, has been named winner of the district Latin contest held March 22 at Rochester. He won first place with a grade of 95. Hoderread has won first place in the district contest for three years in succession. He was awarded second place in the state contest held at Bloomington last year.
