    Wawasee High School recently held its winter sports banquet to honor its top athletes. They are: Brian Dutcher, wrestling MVP; Andy Kryder, boys swimming MVP; Matt Haab, boys basketball MVP; and Lisa Mikel, girls basketball MVP.

    The essay of Gyongyi Bardos, an eighth-grade pupil at Sacred Heart School, Warsaw, placed first in the state among hundreds of essays submitted during History Month in an essay contest sponsored annually by the Daughters of the American Revolution. Her essay has been sent on for National consideration.

Gyongyi and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Denes Bardos, 119 Argonne Road, Warsaw, will be guests of honor at the state recognition dinner on March 20 in Indianapolis.

March 28 1951

    The commissioners' room on the first floor of the court house is being redecorated by Judson Johnson and Howard Hemmer. Work is under way now on the ceiling, which is to be white. The upper walls will be ivory, the lower walls gray-green. The names of the 17 townships will be painted in an artistic design by DeWitt Mullett.

    A crowded house greeted Rin-Tin-Tin at the Centennial Theater Monday night and all lovers of animals will see him tonight who were not at the show Monday. The dog stars in a film titled "The Clash of the Wolves." Forest fires, the attack of the wolf pack and the defending of his master, "Tenderfoot," are the features of the film.
