    ANGOLA - Robert Wildman tied for third place in the recent Cardboard Creative Design Contest at Tri-State University.

Wildman, of Warsaw, designed a cardboard clothes basket for the contest. The designs in cardboard were invented and made by mechanical engineering students in their senior year capstone design course.

    To celebrate the opening of the new Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Warsaw, $175 worth of free cosmetics have been given away to local residents. Winners in the give-away are Ruby Kramer, Rt. 1, Warsaw, winner of $100 in cosmetics; Delores Sturgis, Rt. 7, Warsaw, winner of $50 in cosmetics; and Betty Atchison, 109 Baker Road, Warsaw, winner of $25 in cosmetics.

    An initiation ceremony for 10 members was conducted at the meeting of the American Legion Auxiliary held at the American Legion home, on North Buffalo Street. The initiates were Mrs. Gerald Snyder, Mrs. Robert Wilson, Mrs. Gwendolyn Hight, Mrs. Emery Hoffer, Mrs. Raymond Newby, Mrs. Herbert Evans, Mrs. Pete Carlin, Mrs. Calvin Warner, Mrs. Donald Wallace and Mrs. Herbert Ross.

    The new stop and go traffic lights to be installed here are on display in operation at the Henderson & Parker Electrical shop here. They will be placed on Buffalo Street intersections at Market and Center streets.
